Meetings
Two regularly scheduled meetings are held each year:Annual Meeting
MLMA's Annual Meeting is a one day business meeting to conduct the business of the association, elect officers/directors, review programs and projects, and provide informational updates on issues of interest and importance to the membership. This meeting is held annually in January or February.Mid-Year Convention/Trade Show
This meeting, held in July, provides a forum for business contacts and the exchange of ideas through the MLMA Trade Show and the many networking opportunities provided throughout the meeting. A family oriented meeting, it is well attended and enjoys the reputation as a "must attend" meeting not only in Mississippi, but throughout the Southeast and other areas of the nation.
2004 marked MLMA's 50th year. This watermark in the association's history was celebrated during the July meeting with a record-breaking attendance, fireworks, “look back” at MLMA’s history, and a Black Tie Gala event on Saturday evening. Of MLMA’s 47 Past Presidents, 28 are still living and 23 of them were present to receive special honors during the Gala. 2005 was cut short by Hurricane Dennis, ending after Friday activities.
Usually held on the MS Gulf Coast, following Katrina, the 2006 and 2007 meetings were held in Tunica. MLMA returns to the MS Gulf Coast for the 2008 meeting at Beau Rivage. MLMA President Charlie Thomas says of the MLMA meeting, "it is the place where you will see old friends and customers, make new contacts for your business, and where you and your family will, as always, enjoy and benefit from participating."
